This is a Hoesterey family recipe from Bekah’s Nana. Bekah has made this the past few Thanksgivings and it’s always a hit.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup white karo corn syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Raw pie crust
  • Vanilla ice (for serving)
  • Cool whip (for serving)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Melt butter & sugar; Add coca & set aside
  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs before stirring in karo and salt
  4. Add to butter/sugar (if hot stir to avoid cooking the eggs)
  5. Stir in Pecans
  6. Pour mixture into the pie crust
  7. Bake for 40 minutes until it slightly wobbles, but is not raw
